Exactly what I needed

I have a much larger anchor like this. I purchased it several years ago because it wasn’t expensive and it was all I could find. It’s way too much anchor for our 22ft tritoon. Picked this up a couple weeks ago. It’s the size rated for our boat and it only weighs 8lbs The Lake Express ferry throws huge waves when it comes into the channel from Lake Michigan. Used this anchor with plenty of rope as usual and the chain. We were watching people chase their boats because their anchors didn’t hold. Ours held even though they were using the same size anchor on smaller boats. Not enough rope. I use 6ft of rope for every foot of water. I love this anchor. It holds if you have a chain and enough rope.

Exactly what I was looking for!

This anchor is exactly what I was looking for since one of the 2 others I had on my pontoon was lost. I was very happy to get it as used/like new for just over half price. It was still new with original sticker still on it. Very happy with this purchase.

Not well designed at all

The anchor is sturdy but won't hold a boat correctly. The flukes as it came were 22 degrees from the shank and according to Dansforth it is supposed to be 32 degrees so I had to cut and file about a half an inch from the base to give it that angle which took about an hour. At 22 degrees it would not dig in deep enough to give maximum holding power. Also, at that 22 degree angle, when it comes up to the bracket roller on the anchor pulpit it doesn't seat correctly and rests on a large angle. The shank is also bent a few degrees near the bottom where it goes through the anchor base. Not well designed at all. It seems they use the same size shank for a few anchors and it is much to wide for this anchor. I am going to look for my old one in the sea and if I find it, use this one as a spare. I would have sent it back but I need an anchor tomorrow.

Great anchor

I’ve had a lot of trouble with this style anchor in the past, but I finally found one that works. I have a 20’ 8” center console bay boat, and the anchor with 6’ of chain has held securely in 20 knot winds in sandy and muddy bottom conditions.

Tall Anchor

We ordered this anchor before our boat came in and unfortunately it was too tall to fit in our hull for storage. Had it fit we would've kept it. It is a really good anchor. It collapses for easy storage (in most places). We researched anchors and a fluke anchor is said to be the best. It is supposed to be really good for sandy bottoms. The weight was correct for our boat length. When we were shopping for this a trio offer popped up to go ahead and order the chain and rope also. That made things easier. If you have the space to store this anchor on your boat i think it would be a good one.

Holds in sand bottom

Used this to anchor out my 15 aluminum runabout. Held well in a sand bottom. Have not had the chance to try it in other conditions but as where I go mostly has a sand bottom it works for me.

Nice and light

Bought for my elderly dad to use with his fishing boat as his old one weighted 20lbs and was too difficult for him to pull up on his own. He cut this one down a bit to fit inside a seat compartment but he really likes it. Nice and easy to pull from bottom and holds well once set.

Great anchor!

Use this on my Glastron 18.5' boat on a large lake - our boat weighs approximately 1900lbs. This anchor, when supplied with enough rope, has held true every time I drop it. I anchor mostly in waters from 6 feet out to 20 feet and have been in some choppy waters - never been a problem. Highly recommend this anchor type if you're looking for something.
