King of Gel Highlighters

I’ve used most of (8 brands altogether) the different gel highlighter brands because I am a college student and avid Bible reader so I highlight a LOT and on different types of paper. I LOVE that gel does not smear the words being highlighted, go through the paper, dry out when left uncapped, and have a steady flow that stays a consistent color; yet the downside to some gel highlighters are that they can be flaky and smear across the page. But not the sharpie brand! As long as you use normal pressure this brand will use a consistent flow and color without flakiness! The colors are bright considering it’s wax gel and perfect for my needs. It won’t fade or turn a funky color overtime either! Sharpie has also made the gel highlighters more of an oval shape so they won’t roll off the desk, which is more of a plus than I even realized! The rounded tip took a bit of getting use to but I just use one side of the tip at first and then it wears it down to a “sharper” tip that suits me best. I noticed some comments about these not being gel but they definitely are made gel instead of ink like traditional highlighters are made of. It’s a combination of colored gel and a wax like substance that contains the gel and allows the color to be distributed evenly. For me I think the only downside to the Sharpie Gel Highlighters is just that I use them so often that I go through them so fast! But all good things eventually come to an end and then you just go out and buy a new pack ;-) A refill pack would be cool to have but that’s the only thing I could think of as an improvement to these ;-)

Fade resistant and smooth

I really like how these glide on and that they resist fading. You do have to watch the point that you are using as it wears down just like a crayon so you may have to rotate it as it wears down.

Favorite highlighters!

I have used these gel highlighters for a long time but could no longer find them locally. I like that they aren't exactly round and are less likely to roll when put down. No bleeding of color that I have noted. They last a long time. They don't dry out like conventional highlighters. So glad to find the Sharpie gel highlighters on Amazon!

I Love the Gel Highlighters

There's really no going back after you've used these gels. I do wish Sharpie would make refills though, so we wouldn't have to buy a whole new pen each time. Other than that, they are perfect.

Two Green - real disappointment

The reviews saying they got double colors are not a fluke - they’re stilling sending out packages that don’t have all five colors. If I didn’t need it right away, I would have returned and tried again. VERY DISAPPOINTED as I needed the orange - WHICH IS MISSING. Love, love, love these highlighters. They are so wonderful to use, and fun!

Great at not smudging ink, but thick and awkward to use

They're great for not getting highlighter all over your hands like to conventional types, however the nibs are very wide and I find i have to 'twist' the highlighter a lot when highlighting text. Also, they're only good for about 1 or 2 chapters of a textbook before they run out. Due to their price, it can be very expensive to keep replacing them and buying new ones. If they were slightly slimmer and not so expensive, I would definitely give a 5* rating.

There are better highlighters out there. These crumble in crayons, not great as these crumbly bits get smudged etc.

I wish these were available in stores in Ireland, these work like a charm. I don't get highlighter all over my hands anymore, delighted!
