The paint was dry and unuseable

Although the book was very nice and some great patterns to follow, the paint was completely dried up and unusable.

Not good enough

I found this kit very disappointing. As an art nerd, this is similar to something I might buy for a birthday or christmas, or receive and I think there is absolutely a niche for ‘adult’ art and crafts kits. However, this kit just offers precious little for it’s high price point. I get that rocks are heavy, but they couldn’t even include one rock? Or at least more than two small canvases. While the book is nice quality, it’s very thin and as someone else mentioned, it’s more about mandalas and dotting than it is about rock painting specifically. I was just shocked at how little this kit offered. Even the tutorials are not that great, like telling someone to paint fancy lettering on a rock, but with no info on how to transfer a template, where to find beautiful fonts, how to maintain a steadier hand. Just freehand beautiful calligraphy; it’s not that hard really! Except it is, especially for beginners. A lot more guidance could be offered here. Even painting the mandala style I had some trouble figuring out how to try and keep similar distances, some tips on that would have been lovely. I was so frustrated by the end of it that I threw the whole lot (minus the dotting tools, which are the only good things in here) out, including my terrible mandala. I do like the dotting tools, but even then, some guidance on how hard to press or how to avoid common mistakes would have been good. If most of what you’re offering is bulky packaging and an arts tutorial book, it better at least be a good book. I’ve seen better tutorials for free on Youtube and Pinterest, for crying out loud! Even the acrylic paint tubes offered are tiny and as someone who’s terrible at color mixing, I really wish they’d offered more colours or a better guide on mixing them. Overall, I just feel it offers so little other than some dotting tools. I recommend saving your money and buying the tools yourself and taking a free class or tutorial, this just doesn’t cut it.

Not Inspiring

I have been painting Rocks since 2020 and felt this kit may be helpful in being more creative with them. It has not really helped. The dot painting tools ARE useful and sturdy plastic material, allowing me to create solid and hollow dots, but the mini canvas included and subpar paint brush definitely were not inspiring. The acrylic paint included is easy to reseal, but very little of each colour is included. It does dry nicely, but definitely can't be used for a full base colour or you will use all the paint in one go. The book is not very helpful other than advising what you can paint, but not the techniques or how, particularly the writing (which I find the most difficult aspect of rock painting). Way overpriced for what you get and don't learn. Maybe it is best for a true crafty beginner, not a seasoned one.
