SEEMS STURDY ENOUGH - NICE GLOSS BLACK FINISH
I wanted to replace the plastic bracket that came with my flag kit. This one seemed reasonably priced. It is fairly heavy metal and seems sturdy. I'm not sure how it would hold up in a really strong wind, but I wouldn't leave the flag and pole up in that kind of weather. It fit my 1 inch aluminum pole nicely, not too much play, and it wasn't tight enough to cause a problem inserting the pole. I have to admit I really like the way this bracket looks. If I have any problems, I will update this review. UPDATE: 10/28/12 First time I have actually placed a pole with a banner (for Holloween - we were away for labor day) into the bracket and tightened the holding screw. The screw actually stripped the threads of the hole it sits in. I had to drill a hole into the flag pole itself and had to use a sheet metal screw to hold the pole in place through the stripped out hole. Next time of use will be Election Day and Veteran's Day. I knocked off a star for this problem. Will update as needed.

Perfect and VERSITILE flagpole mount!
I have had this mount on my house for years and find it to be the absolute best one available! Multiple mounting screws offer a solid hold to my house. The unique thing I liked about this mount is its versatility. Not only can you fly your 3'x5' flag, you can fly a small flag underneath (as long as the dowel fits in the bracket holes). When your favorite sports team is playing, this mount also allows you to fly a banner instead of flying flags without doing any adjustments to the mount itself. On a windy day, to reduce wear and tear on your more expensive 3'x5' flag, you may consider just flying a small (less expensive) flag, which also can be done without modification to the mount. This mount allows for 4 different cinfigurations without any adjustments to the mount itself (3'x5' flag, 3'x5' flag with small flag underneith, small flag only, or 3'x5' banner)

One would think that all brackets would be engineered to ...
One would think that all brackets would be engineered to support a flag pole and withstand the normal compression and shearing stresses of flying a flag, but this is not true. After unsuccessfully searching my local stores for a well-designed bracket, I found the Toland Home Garden 41046 bracket on-line and purchased it immediately. The four screws are well-placed to stabilize this bracket where it is mounted. It costs more than the ill-designed brackets I saw in stores, but the extra cost was well-worth it to me. I can now fly my flag without worrying that I will come home to find my flag lying on the ground due to bracket failure.

Solid
The unit is solid. I've had the flags up for over a month and there have been no problems. The only reason I didn't give them a five star is because the poles kind of bounce around in there a little. The screw can be tightened for one of the poles but doesn't secure both. But unless you have some crazy wind you should be just fine. Where I live I consistently have a breeze and I have had no problems.

Very Good Flag Pole Bracket
Great flag pole bracket but needs longer screws for mounting! Other reviews indicate that the bracket will easily dislodge from whatever it is mounted to. This is true when you use the screws that come with the bracket. However, this problem can easily be solved by purchasing longer screws. I mounted the bracket on a tree. After a strong storm, the bracket became dislodged and fell down. I went to a hardware store and bought longer screws for $1. The longer screws have done the trick and the bracket, pole, and flag have made it through several windy and stormy days without any problems.

Very Good but I like Evergreen Flag & Garden 2403049 2-Way Cast Iron Flag Pole BracketBetter
This is very light weight and a little decorative. However, I like the Evergreen Flag & Garden 2403049 2-Way Cast Iron Flag Pole Bracket better and give it 5 stars. The Evergreen is just very heavy duty and still looks great.

Solid Bracket
The bracket was nice and solid. However, the screws they sent with it were a joke. 1 1/4" screws do nothing to hold in high winds. I had to replace the screws with nice long 3 1/2 inch screws to be satisfied they would find solid footing in my door frame. So be prepared to use your own screws!

flag pole holder
This was strongly made, the paint was baked on and will probably never rust in any way.. I was very pleased with the product, but my flag pole (which I measured to be the same size) would not fit. I think you would need to go 1/8 to /4 of an inch larger so the pole would fit

Mid range price for a high quality product!
I purchased this based on other reviews. I'm very pleased with the product I use concrete screws through, instead the ones that came with it. It was delivered in 24 hours, and by far more superior than some of the other products that are being sold. And I wanted black to match the trim of the exterior of my home, shutters, and my front door.

It's okay
This bracket is not that well finished, has rough edges inside from the casting process. Also found that the locking screw wasn't long enough to secure the Toland flagpole that I purchased, so I had to add one of my own. It's only been in use for 2 months so only time will tell how long it will last.
