Great lathe

The belt can be replaced with a nicer one, other than that, its perfect. know what youre doing. especially if you attach metal jaws, you can really get hurt if you dont know what youre doing oh, and sharpen your tools and use the right ones for the right job. perfect lathe. i rated it 2 stars for "for beginners". you need to setup stock properly and tool rest properly and speed. that being said, theres some people out there who are savants, and thats why it got 2 stars instead of 1. but you can get injured badly if you are not careful, and you really must wear a dust mask and goggles when turning. I use a fullface 3m 7800, i love that mask.

Flexible light poor design. Sags and falls Tool rest had gouges creating rough surface.

Exactly what I was looking for, first lathe for me. Not much to put everything on it, only problem I had was one of the cord mounts was broke but some super glue fixed that. Well made would buy again and recommend. Turned my first bowel last week turned out great.

Super lathe!

I bought this lathe for a beginners lathe, when I got it I knew absolutely nothing about lathing. But this lathe made turning easy and simple. The build and design of this lathe is top quality and craftsmanship! Deffently going to be ordering mor Shopfox equipment!

Poor quality control

I'm giving this lathe only two stars not because it's not a well-built machine but because of the very poor quality control. If I wasn't an accomplished DIY'er and an engineer, I would have returned it for replacement. Once I got it repaired, it performs very well for the price.

Crappy product. Would NOT recommend to any one

2nd time I'm putting up this review. The 1st one I ordered broke within 3 weeks of owning it. Got a replacement and the second one broke within two weeks. The teeth on the gears keep breaking off. Crappy product. Would NOT recommend to any one. Edit: Just got my notification of refund email. It COST ME $97.00 to return this piece of crap for a refund.
