Works exactly as advertised to put a 1 1/8 steerer fork into a tapered head frame. Very easy to install. Could have used a little more thickness to help with alignment, and I don't believe it needs the split, as it allows for some dirt to enter the head tube.

Worked fine - Not split

My part was not split as shown. It made it a little tougher to install and definitely tougher if I have to remove. I had to take some PVC tubing to insert over the steerer tube and hit with a mallet in order to get it to seat. I bought this over other offerings so that I would not have to do this. Other than that it works great and has allowed me to use a straight fork with my tapered frame without issue

Works perfectly, a simple solution and much less expensive than replacing a steerer/crown/stanchion assembly on a fork. No tools required to install it, the slot in the race allows it to slide right onto crown with your bare hands. Also, the outside diameter is small enough to fit into the bottom of a head tube if the bearing is recessed. The only drawback is not the fault of this crown race: A straight 1.125" fork crown looks a little strange under a 1.5" head tube, but that's just cosmetic and doesn't affect the function at all. 10 out of 10, and that's coming from someone with 25 years of experience as a professional (ie: paid by a team or shop) bike mechanic.

Fits!!!

Very excited as several similar products indicated fit was a problem. This fit my fork and frame perfectly. May give 5 stars, but haven’t ridden bike yet.

Worked out perfect!

This part allowed me to install a straight steer tube fork in place of a tapered steer tube fork. I reused my original cartridge bearings from the tapered steer tube along with this crown race reducer (original crown race was not needed) and everything went together great!

Yes, it is a split race for easy installation.
