heavy duty and good price

I like it very much. I needed something that could cut a 14" sheet. Only thing I do not like is if I put too many sheets to cut sometimes the blade will move to the right and the cut goes crooked. It is spring loaded at the pivot point. My other cutter (12 inch) will not do this. I just need to put 6-8 sheets instead of 10-12 sheets, then no problem. I need to be neat because I sell these sheets for $10 to $15 each.

Sharp and durable

I love this thing. It can cut about 5 sheets of cardstock at a time and more of regular 20lb bond. The measure graph is printed off from the actual blade. Following the grid makes your cuts on an angle... better to measure yourself. But great quality otherwise for the price. I use it for crafting projects. I would get a higher quality for professional projects

Excellent Customer Service!

I received the cutter on time. The board was cracked on the edge and would not make an exact cut. I called X-ACTO customer service and sent a picture of the issue. The representative immediately set up a replacement part and I received it today! Great company to work with AND super cutter!! I will recommend every time someone mentions a paper cutter to me!

My old cutter fell apart and I needed to replace it. I am pleased with this X-Acto trimmer. It's heavy duty without being heavy. It's self sharpening so I am thinking that it will be long-lasting.

Great cutter

I really like this cutter. I bought it especially to cut my quilling strips so accuracy is a must. The cutter is very heavy which will add to the durability, in my opinion. I only wish the people that design cutters would actually use them. I add a "holding piece" to all my cutters to hold the paper down close to the edge preventing the inevitable slide at the bottom when you cut. The slide is the only con. It's the same on all cutters I have had.

Quality item, nice and sharp. Handle popped off but I glued it back on. Would buy again.

Great office tool

If you have to cut any amount of paper, this is the tool to have. It's easy to assemble and light weight. The blade is sharp and makes cutting several sheets of paper at one time a breeze.

Very easy to use.

I purchased this for cutting straight lines after printing a photo for sublimation. Much easier and more accurate than using scissors. Very well made cutter and easy to read. Would definitely purchase again if needed two of them.

With a name like Exacto I expected more Exacto.

This product is ok. I am keeping because I expect any other brand will be the same. It's a tidy piece of equipment. Nice table. However, the most important part, the knife is not heavy enough. It wobbles. So it is difficult to get an accurate cute. It does not come naturally. With practise and not cutting to many sheets, I can apply the correct kind of inward pressure on the downstroke to prevent the knife from wobbling, but it isn't 100% but close. Also I had to parafine the runner to get the paper guide in and now it's so loose that the paper guide moves and you have to tape it down. In fairness I have worked with more expensive and better made guillotines and found that they weren't as accurate cutting as they should be either and a little body english was required to get a good cut. With a name like exacto, I was expecting a little more accuracy. I bought it because of the brand and this doesn't live up to image

It’s the John Wick of paper cutters.

It does not stop. Not only did it perform as advertised, but it is also effective against high table assassins , ninjas , zombie hordes (the slow ones ) and makes a really satisfying zzzshwoop sound.

Safety concern

This product is advertised as having a solid wood base. When did MDF become referred as solid wood? Also, of most concern is the blade does not stay upright when raised, which to me is a serious flaw as it could catch your hand if you are adjusting your paper. The "adjustable" paper guide does not slide in the grove. It has to be hammered into the grove because the fit is so tight and requires a lot of effort to remove and adjust. Also, when cutting thinner stock paper like tracing paper, the top of the blade does not make a straight cut as the paper tends to slide under the blade. I'll be returning this product.

The handle is loose

Bought this for the office where lots of chopping of papers happens. The handle has loosened so that you have to be very intentional of pushing it towards the board in order to get a clean cut. Otherwise it take a few tries to get a piece of paper chopped. And even then it's a messy cut.

It was great while it worked!!

I really liked this product while it worked. I had just started my photography business and used it to trim my photos. It cut with ease and has a nice solid base. Then one day..it just didn’t cut. I had only had it about four months! Very Disappointing!
