Fantastic watering system!
Last year, I needed something to water the garden that lines the sidewalk up to our house effectively. Once these were installed, a multi-hour chore became as easy as screwing a hose in and turning it on. I liked them so much, I am putting them in my raised-bed veggie gardens this year! Pros - SO easy to water a large area, quickly and effectively, without wasting a ton of water. Fairly easy to install for a do-it-yourself-er. My garden took an afternoon (into early evening) to do by myself. Cons - If you are putting this in a high-traffic area, you may have to do regular annual upkeep. (Eg: Several of mine were bumped in the winter when my son shoveled the sidewalk, so I needed to replace them.) What I used for the sidewalk garden: I used these in conjunction with approx. 100 ft of 1/2" tubing, and added these on using 1/4" tubing. I used mostly 1/2 circles, and some full circle sprayers. The garden area is approx. 18" deep. I installed 28 of these along that 100 ft of tubing. Most of the 1/4'' attaching lines are 6-12" in length. There is a little less "oomph" for the sprayers at the end of the line, but they still manage to spray about 12" out. I am impressed. Definitely get one of the little plug-punches to start the holes for you. It will be a huge help. I also found that installing these with a pliers saved my hands. One word of caution: Buy a few extra. I ended up throwing away 8 of these because my hands were wet and if your grip slips when putting the 1/4 tubing on, the little tip breaks right off. Ditto for the sprayer tips. DON'T use a pliers to put those on! (Though you'll need pliers to turn them, once on) Also, plan to "pre-do" the holes for where you want them to go. You don't want to be hammering on these, even on the flat part of the stake, because if you miss even a little, you can take out the top nozzle. I have rocky soil. As soon as I had one that was broken, I used that and hammered it in so once it was prepared, it would just slide in easily. My "system" for putting them in was this: I laid the 1/2" tubing. I put loops over the tubing to hold it in place. Put the end cap and hose end onto the tubing. (There are 2 kinds of methods for attaching the tubing to the fittings. I found the screw-on kind to be less effective. I used the kind that you need to separate with a screw driver) Determine where the stakes will go. I spaced mine about 18-24" apart. Cut the 1/4" tubing as long as you need it, allow for a little give. Put the tubing on the stake, using a pliers. Non-slip garden gloves may help. Put the plug coupling onto the 1/4" tubing, using a pliers. Pre-punch a hole in the 1/2" tubing, insert the other end of the coupling. (I found that the tubing would want to cave in at the hole a bit. Pinching the sides of the 1/2'' tubing as I applied downward pressure with the 1/4'' tube helped prevent this.) Place in ground, move on to the next one. Once placed, turn on the hose, and adjust sprayer tips carefully, using a pliers to rotate as needed. You can also screw the hose in, once a couple are set and adjust as you go. It's wetter, but it saved time. ;)

Nice Variety of Patterns, Good Stakes w/ weak plastic, Versatile
I was fully aware about the length of these stakes and is in fact something I wanted. I also bought these because there are several spray patterns available. + Fair Price + Many Extra Spray Pattern Nozzles + Just Push the Spray Nozzles on and Remove Just As Easy. + Flow Control - From a drip to a full on spray with the twist of a knob + Connector Attached to Stake for Tapping Poly Tubing + Tall Enough to throw water out over plants and right where I need it, without the water being blocked by foliage. - Seemingly weak plastic - Carefully push stake in depending on soil type - Be careful connecting the 1/4" drip tube to the inlet on the stake. If it breaks of you'll have a worthless piece of plastic. - The Half Circle pattern is not a true 180° or half circle, it is close but I have to move the stake back about a foot to get the water pattern to hit both shrubs. I would guess it's about 165-170° angle. _Bottom Line_ Yes, I would recommend these to a friend looking for a way to precisely deliver a spray of water to plants. The fact that it is on a stake means it can be placed right where you want it, and it is not going to move. I am using a couple behind a few well established shrubs (4' plus) and I have some in my small garden. The tall stake allows the water to spray on/over my vegetable garden and not into the leaves. I was able to use one of these stakes to replace two other smaller micro-sprinklers that would not spray over the broccoli.

Far Superior To RainBird Micro Bubbler/Sprinkler
I had purchased a very similar Rainbird product. Since those purchases I have fought and fought to get the Rainbird product to work consistently. I would get them to spray by removing the top. But on the next startup,......they would seem to get an air lock and not spray properly,......or at all. I then purchased these. What a nice difference. Easy to adjust. Three different type of caps to adjust the type of spray. A cap for 360 degree spray streams. Then a cap with 180 degree fan spray. And another type of cap for about 90 degree fan spray. (There are 5 caps of each type of spray.) This brand puts out a much stronger spray of water than the Rainbird brand. So you can assume it uses considerably more water. But they are still micro sprinklers,.....and the water output is still much less than a normal sprinkler. I did find that you should use new quarter inch water line. When I tried to use older hose,.....the hose was not flexible and I had a hard time inserting the old hose onto the barbed fitting. This did cause the barb to break,.....making that one sprinkler worthless. But if I used new hose,.......I had no problem installing the new flexible hose onto the barbs. I live in Central Florida,.....so my soil is sand. The longer stakes presented no problem for me to push into the ground. I find the longer stakes to be an advantage as I can now throw water much farther,.....or push them further into the ground for closer watering. I will be ordering several more packages of these to water my fruit and decorative tress.

works fine but quality issues
Orbit 65140 5-Pack Micro-Sprinkler Stake with Full, 1/2 and 1/4 Snap-On Nozzles generally OK but i dont like that the spinkler heads arent perfectly cut so the water patterns are wonky. I use exacto knife to shape the openings better to make a nicer water pattern -- basically 1 at least ONE blue 180deg head needs this kind of modification to make work better. also be careful here with inserting the 1/4" tube. if your tube is stiff then you could possibly bread the nozzle opening. (i made that mistake). generally works fine except i really hopped the quality control was better here...

Poor quality - broke 2 quickly - the ones that work - don't work well.
Terrible quality on the plastic. just trying to put the 1/4 inch tubing on the connector broke the brittle connectors on this device. Was thrilled (after breaking two of these while trying to make a connection) to finally get one working - only to be disappointed as the nozzle spray pattern is not what the description states - it's just sad. Would've returned this - but i already broke two so will just take the loss.

functional and fairly priced
It wasn't clear to me in the description but they come with 90, 180, and 360 degree tops (3 for each stake) that you can use, depending on what is needed. It has been great because different places in my garden require different angles of coverage. I could just pick the right head for the right spot.

poor quality and hard to adjust
Poor quality, and inconsistent pattern from one cycle to another. After adjusting the nozzle the next time the system turns on the pattern is not good again. I don't recommend

Great price for the 5 pack
I had to replace 2 of the micro-sprinklers in my planters and finding these in a retail store was a challenge. Thankfully, I found them on Amazon and they work great.
