Walker bag suitable for daytime and evening activities

This is a large, very well-made walker bag designed to hanger over the front bar of a walker with a pouch on either side of the bar. Each pouch is very roomy and can hold a large woman's wallet, checkbook, cell phone, and miscellaneous other items in one pouch. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars if that both sides are each one large pouch, which means that you have to dig around to find smaller items which usually have sunk to the bottom of the bag. I have a hand-sewn bag made by a local group which donates them to a local rehab hospital for people recovery from hip or knee replacement surgery, and it has one large pouch and 2 smaller ones on each side, which does make it easier to locate smaller items. That said, this bag is very beautiful, with a blue paisley quilted fabric which would probably go with many different outfits and would be appropriate for both a daytime activity as well as a more formal evening event.

Update on purchase

I feel I had to edit my review, because even though it doesn't have the tabs, it really isn't a problem and my mom loves it. She can't stop thanking my for it, and says the other residents at the Assisted Living all want to know where she got it. The bag is the right size, and doesn't hit her knees like I thought it would. It really is helpful for her, and I wanted to set the record straight :-) Buyer Beware: the picture of this walker bag on all Ableware photos show attaching straps to hold the bag in place from the sides. This prevents the bag from falling back and hitting the person with the walker in the knees. This bag does NOT come with these attachments. The only reason I bought this bag was because of these additional straps. Very cheesy of the seller to inply this is a part of the bag. Not so.

Great Idea

I bought the wine pattern for my 84 year old mother who is in a nursing home. I liked it so well that I came back and bought this one in the blue pattern for her roommate. I think these bags will be helpful for them to carry necessary things (in lieu of a handbag or toiletry bag) and be able to have both hands on the walker. They are both beautiful patterns and are well made. I am having their names embroidered on them to give them a special touch. There is a piece of velcro in the center at the very top on both pockets, but I will probably leave theirs open or "unvelcro" them. I think it may be a little difficult for them to pull the strong velcro apart (since they both have rather weak hands), but it looks like it is optional.

Double-Sided Quilted Walker Tote/Bag is a Necessity for the Handicapped

I bought this for my sister-in-law who uses a walker and was frustrated because she had no way to carry necessary items. I found this Ableware Double-Sided Quilted Walker tote bag and mailed it to her. She called me to thank me and to tell me she was thrilled with it. It carries tissues, her phone, lotions, etc. and make life easier for her. I am grateful to Amazon for providing yet another product I couldn't find them where I live. Granted, I didn't look too hard but with Amazon it was available at my fingertips.

CHANGED INSIDE BACKGROUND COLOR AND PRINT

I purchased the navy and blues shown on the page and ordered another because it works so well with my walker. I wanted to have a second one just in case. I would have given this five stars, but got a different print and color mix. Well it does say "patterns subject to change," but I really don't like the change from predominately navy and blues to avocado-colored print background. Definitely isn't attractive. Best to go back to the print that is shown when ordering.

Walker pouch

Much prettier than my 95 yr old aunt's basic walker pouch. I wish the pockets were a bit deeper on at least 1 side & maybe a snap closure vs Velcro but that is only because she packs daily with little stuffed animals she wins at bingo & the Velcro is seriously tested. LOL. 2 individual pockets would be helpful on 1 side but again its due to her habits not a product issue!

Lots of compliments!

I bought this for my mother in law when she started to use a walker this past spring. The pattern is beautiful - blue floral - and there are so many useful pockets - one for her iphone, her mail, and a water bottle fits, too. She is very happy with the quality and gets lots of compliments!
