30 minute install. Easier than an NAU liBeral arts major. ????

I installed it by myself in 30 minutes, using a half inch ratchet and three different sockets. One note, I had to bend both end tabs out about 1/4” with a steel mallet to fit the width of the frame, but that was also easy… max one minute of effort… also like an NAU grad ????

Easy Installation

The installation was pretty straight forward. You’ll need a torque wrench that goes up to 210 ft/lbs. I had to slightly bend the outer tabs with a 5lb sledge to get the bolt holes to line up correctly.

Kudos to the engineers and techs at Toyota and Curt. Hitch fit perfectly. I installed it by myself, took a little while longer to raise and adjust but everything slid into place.

Excellent fit on a 2014 Toyota 4runner Trail

The hitch was fairly easy to install on the vehicle except the mounting hardware was not included in the box nor were the instructions. I found the instructions on the Curt web site and they were easy to follow. The shipping box did not have any packing, instructions, or the mounting hardware that the instructions said should have been in the box. I purchased my own grade 8 bolts and fabricated a 3/8 inch steel plate to fit over the truck tow hook.

Very tight fit but works perfectly on my 2016 4Runner

The front hitch mount fits my 2016 4 Runner perfectly and is less obtrusive than I expected. You have to be patient to get the device to go into place and align with the mounting holes. It is an extremely tight squeeze on the 4Runner. Unless you are able to work with the vehicle on a lift, don't even try to do it without someone to hold the opposite end. Even with a lift, it will be difficult to do it without help.

If you need one, this is it!

Well engineered and strong. Not too bad to install either, took around 45 minutes. If you need a front receiver, get this one. Doesn't impact approach angles much, if at all.
